Karabox is a game with game mechanics similar to Super Mario Bros 3, in which the player has to save Princess Ani (a character of their own design) from Bowser Jr. (also one of their own designs). It was created by Jordan Reid, who claims he wanted players to feel like they were playing an "old-school" Nintendo game when they played Karabox. The objective is to get Princess Ani through various obstacles in order for her to escape the clutches of Bowser Jr., but there are obstacles which change depending on what level is being played at any given time, including levels that require the player's skill and ingenuity rather than just simple running. The game was released onto Steam on August 31, 2015 and onto Itch.io on March 9, 2016. The game is also available for Xbox One and Playstation 4, although the controls were changed for the latter two platforms. Karabox was nominated for most innovative video game at the Canada New Media Awards (CNMAs), with Jordan Reid as the most influential New Media person in Canada that year. Due to an email address mix-up between Itch and IndieDB, Jordan's blog accidentally went live early, which revealed his true identity as a white male from Montreal. Karabox developer Robert Yang responded by saying he'd never clicked on a link from a random email address before. Karabox was also nominated for the Outstanding Achievement in Art and Originality of a Video Game at the Indiecade Festival. The hip-hop musician and actor Ice-T (who portrayed rapper and Game Over character Ray Ray during his days on "New York Undercover") was impressed by the game, and Jordan got to meet him at the event. Anima also did an interview with Jordan about his design process, including an early demo made using Lego blocks. Since then, the game has been doing well on Twitch, with over 15k concurrent views on Twitch TV daily. It reached the most number of concurrent viewers on Twitch for an independent game at 30k, being beaten out by other games such as "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" and "Fortnite". ] ]https://youtu.be/AoMcNpz6iOQ ]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GT-WaKKTBw ]] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz6vL4BjfWE]] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOdN3gGQcHk ]] ]]] ]]] ]]] ] ]] ]] ] ]]] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz6vL4BjfWE]] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOdN3gGQcHk. cfa1e77820
